About the Airborne Wind Energy Consortium

The Airborne Wind Energy Consortium unites the stakeholders of the industry into a single, focused voice. The primary purpose is to promote research, development and deployment of airborne wind energy worldwide. The Consortium is comprised of industry firms, academic researchers, utilities, government agencies and other stakeholders who work together to advance the industry.

It conducts key activities including:

  • supporting and drafting public policy initiatives
  • lobbying to influence regulatory agencies
  • providing educational and networking venues
  • designing and launching public relations efforts
  • The Consortium plays a crucial role in bringing together key players around the many vital issues affecting the industry.
